May 2012
May 14th, 2012Dear Parents,
Our picture day will be on Wednesday May 16th. The photographer will come after 9 oclock.
Summer time is approaching and we need to know if your child will be attending daycare in July and August. Please let your room teacher know.
The children decided to help the community by raising some food for the Food Bank. If you have some non-perishable items you can bring along with your child to donate, please feel free.
Please note that the daycare will be closed on Monday May 21 for Victoria Day. Have a nice long weekend.

Happy Birthday to Aaliyah this month.
We would like to welcome Sophie to our room.
The weather is getting warmer and we will be spending more time outside. So please don’t forgot to bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle for your child each morning. A sunscreen permission form is available in the room.

Happy 3rd birthday to Lilly this month.
It’s a new month again, and we would like to welcome Lyla and Marlie to our room.
Our planning is based on your children’s interests so we created an Interest Wall where you can see what activities each child loves and what centers they like to play in.
Themes for this month are Caterpillars and Butterflies, Flowers, Bugs. We will be learning some new songs, reading stories, and doing crafts related to these themes.
The children always like to draw and color, so we are always glad to get some recycled office paper from parents.
Almost everyone in our room is potty trained! Feel free to talk to the staff about any suggestions or concerns.
Reminder: please bring a sunhat and sunscreen for your child.

We often have discussions with our children about different activities that they love, so we decided to create different clubs for our children (lego club, dance club, cooking club, etc.).
There are 2 suggestion boxes. One for parents, and one for children. Feel free to add your suggestions. The children are writing us any suggestions (new games, new activities, craft ideas, etc.).
All the children are active and like movement. In our dancing club, they are learning different movements so hopefully they will be able to come up with a dance for parents and perform at the end of the year party.
We always need extra recycled computer/office paper so the children can draw. If your office has extra, we would accept it.
We are talking to children about less fortunate people and are getting with the Food Bank by collecting non-perishable items. The Food Bank box is located at the entrance of the daycare.
We are also teaching children about different community helpers. Parents are always welcome to come in and share something with the children about their profession.
Mrs. Evelyne
